| The slabs is an old abandoned Navy base that is owned by the government, but no one claims owership. It is used by anyone who wants to camp here. A lot of snowbirds and a few residents that live here all year and who have been here for maybe 30 years. The temps are probably in the 120+ during the summer. There is no electricity, water, or garbage. The water has to be hauled in and anyone who wants electric must use solar or wind power. Some of the areas are a little trashy, but there are some nice areas to camp also. See more information with the links below. |
