Brent's 2009 Travels
Sep 23 Finally arrived. I am camped in the national forest south of Hopewell Lake in New Mexico half way between Tres Piedras and Tierra Amarillo. Camping with friends Cathy and Ron.
Sep 22 My motorhome is running again. I met up with my friends Cathy and Ron yesterday and we are heading out this morning for a camping location about 60-70 miles south of Alamosa, CO.
Sep 17 Leaving Denver and headed south to northern New Mexico. Don't have a destination in mind but will know it when I see it.
Sep 11 Volunteered for the Colorady Relay race from Georgetown to Carbondale, CO. I didn't get any pictures of the aspen's turning gold.
Aug 29 Attended a gathering of people who used to work at USWest MIS. It was great seeing people I hadn't seen in years.
Aug 21 - Aug 23 Didn't get called out on a wildfire, so when back up to Leadville, CO and volunteered to help with the Trail 100 Race across the sky.
Aug 10 Headed back to Lakewood, CO as I go oncall for a wildfire assignment.
Aug 9 Went into Leadville for "Boom Days" again and was a communications volunteeer for the burro race up Mosquito Pass and back.
Aug 8 Went into Leadville for "Boom Days" events and parade and food.
Aug 4 Took another 4WD trip from Leadville, CO over Mosquito Pass down into Alma. We (Cathy and Ron Benton) found 7 or 8 GeoCaches along the way. We returned thru Fairplay and Buena Vista. We ate supper at Quincy's in Buena Vista.
Aug 1 Took a 4WD trip from Camp Hale over Ptarmigan Pass and looped around and came back out to Camp Hale.
Jul 29 Arrived at Leadville, CO to visit some friends at the fish hatchery. Will probably be here about 10-12 days.
Jun 29 Back in Lakewood, CO waiting for a wildfire assignment.
Jun 27 - Jun 28 Volunteered for the MS Bike Ride (150 miles) from N. Denver to Fort Collins. Spend the night at Colo State Univ.
Jun 23 Helped load up 14,000 trout and take them from the hatchery to Twin Lakes (S of Leadville, CO) where they were released.
Jun 22 Drove to the ghost town of Winfield (S of Leadville, CO) and went exploring.
Jun 17 - Jun 25 Camping in the mountains SW of Leadville at the Fish hatchery with some friends.
May 8 Arrived back in the Denver area for the summer staying at my sister's house in Lakewood.

Mar 21 Went gold prospecting north of Wickenburg, AZ and we found gold.

Feb 17 Drove to Algodones, Mexico to get new glasses.
Feb 16 - Feb 17 In Travel status. Spending the night in Quartzsite, AZ and they heading for the Yuma, AZ area tomorrow.
